I travelled to Morocco for a few days with the intention of checking out Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains.  After a good stroll from the hotel through the Medina, I visited the superb Maison de la Photographie, showcasing fabulous portraiture of Moroccan people.   There are a lot of hustlers once you're in the Medina, you soon learn to tune it out after hearing "the square is this way, that way, closed" a million times.  Otherwise you'll have someone offering to guide you to the middle of nowhere then demanding money, the oldest trick!

My second day was spent with a brilliant guide - Youssef from Time Out Marrakech, who drove me to several palaces and palaces of interest I'd otherwise never have discovered.  Bahia palace I highly recommend, with it's stunning tile work and art.

The last guided tour I had was to the base of the Atlases, visiting some Berber villages and having a good walk past waterfalls and fabulous views with our guide.

My final full day was left to my own devices, again wandering the medina, and visiting another incredible site, the Musee De Marrakech.
